Common Types of Laminators
Hot Pouch Laminators
Hot Pouch Laminators are the most popular type of laminator used to encapsulate a document within a pouch which has 2 connected sides in which the item to be laminated is positioned. The pouch is coated with a heat-activated film, which melts when passed through the heated rollers and is then bonded under pressure, removing all of the bubbles and creating a tight seal.
Cold Pouch Laminators
Cold Pouch Lamination are the best option when laminating heat-sensitive documents, which would include faxes, photos, and documents printed with an ink jet printer. Cold lamination can be safer and provide better UV protection than hot lamination. Cold laminating pouches use an adhesive that is activated with pressure, are easy and safe to use because they do not get hot and may not use electricity.
Cold Roll Feed Laminators
Cold Roll Feed Laminators are used to laminate encapsulating film to mount prints to board, applying vinyl's and applying adhesive films. These are commonly used in-Copy and print shops, sign makers and commercial printers.
Single Hot Roll Feed Laminators
Single Hot Roll Feed Laminators encapsulate a heat activated thermal film being applied on one side of the print. The finished result is trimmed to leave a clear border around the edge of the print, therefore encapsulated. Film is available in gloss and matt finishes in a range of thickness from 42 - 250 micron.
Advantages of Flute Laminator
More Professional Look
Using laminating film will give your documents and materials a professional look, especially for name cards or posters. These items appear more polished and presentable, making them great for presentations or display in public areas. When someone takes the time to laminate items, it sends a message that the owner takes pride in their work.
Protect Your Documents
Laminating your documents, photos, and other materials by a laminator will ensure their durability. It's especially important for items that you handle frequently or use outdoors. The lamination acts as a shield against dirt, dust, grime, and fingerprints. Your laminated item can withstand the wear and tear of daily use without becoming damaged or discolored. This process seals your documents, photos, and other materials in a protective film that will keep them safe from water damage, dirt or grime.
Various Uses for Lamination
Different laminating film thicknesses can be used on a variety of documents, posters, and photos. The thicker laminating film, like a 10 mil laminating film, is extremely rigid and hard to bend. It's usually used for ID badges, reference sheets, and menus that do not need to fold. Thinner laminating film can be used on documents or posters that require folding or rolling.
Reusable Materials
Laminating is a cost-effective way to protect your documents and materials. Laminating machines and professional services are available at a range of prices, so you can find one that fits your budget. Additionally, lamination will help increase the lifespan of your items, preventing future costs associated with replacing them.
Features of Flute Laminator
Sensor Compensation Centering Device
The sensor compensation centering device uses multiple sets of sensors to sense the relative position of the running corrugated board so that the two servo motors on the left and right sides of the top paper are independently driven to achieve high-precision and high-speed centering of the top paper and the corrugated board.
Electronic Control System
The full-function electronic control system, touch screen, and PLC program automatically monitor the working status, which is convenient for troubleshooting. Electrical design conforms to CE standards.
Gluing Device
The gluing device adopts a high-precision gluing wheel and cooperates with a specially designed metering roller to improve the uniformity of gluing. Unique glue wheel, with glue stop device, and automatic glue level control system, to ensure that the glue does not overflow.
Frame
The frame is processed by a CNC lathe at one time, which ensures the accuracy of each position. Gear transmission, smooth operation, and low noise. The motors and spare parts are made by famous brands, with high efficiency, less trouble, and long service life.
Maintenance Tips for Flute Laminator
Turn It off First
You would think it would be the first thing to do, but some people have not followed this rule. Cleaning without turning off the machine could be disastrous.
Make Sure It Has Cooled Off
It is important to make sure the machine has cooled off before you start cleaning it. The reason is to protect yourself from getting burned and the other is it is easier to clean when the rollers have cooled down.
Never Use a Knife or Scissors
Don't try scraping any laminate that is stuck on your rolls. You can damage the rolls. It will leave nicks in the roller and cause creasing and air bubbles when you use it again. Don't use rubbing alcohol either, it can dry out your rollers.
Remove the Rollers for Cleaning
Put the machine into reverse to get any extra lamination out of the machine. It helps save time in the cleaning process. If there is an excess film on the rollers, you can warm up the rollers enough to make the excess film easy to clean. Use a clean cloth to rub off the film. You can use a rubber rejuvenator to help break down the glue.
